The Upper of the SL9 is constructed from an ultra light synthetic leather featuring asymmetrical articulating which lets the upper part of the boot flex independently from the lower to gives a smooth and progressive flex whilst eliminating any opportunity for kinking between the upper and lower sections. For improved response Burton use state of the art TPU reinforcing in its Powershell design introducing TPU panels to the construction of the boot, these stiffen the shells lateral and medial flexes and increase the boots rebound making for a more reactive and solid ride. To top off the upper the Zonal speed-lacing system gives the ultimate in high speed and controlled closure. For ultimate foot support the SL9 sits on an advanced ultra low profile sole unit that features a TPU heel and arch shank, these support the foot whilst the built in air frame cushioning dampens out any unwanted shocks.
